Battery Design Studio® - an update

Several important capabilities of Battery Design Studio® will be presented including the capability to simulate three-dimensional pouch cells, current distribution in spiral cells and concentration-dependent, solid-phase, diffusion coefficients.

These capabilities enable battery designers to size current collectors and tabs for the large lithium-ion cells used in automotive applications.

Further, the enhancements to the physics-based models improve their capability to simulate the very high-rate behavior of lithium-ion batteries.

Lastly, the road map for upcoming capabilities of the software will be presented.
