Keeping It Cool in STAR-CCM+
Thursday, May 12, 2016

As a general-purpose simulation tool, STAR-CCM+® is used for applications in almost every industry where products are developed - automotive, aerospace, marine, oil & gas, energy, nuclear, life sciences, chemical processing…and electronics.

Thermal simulations are the most common in electronics companies, but many of the other industries also frequently involve electronics cooling applications. In electronics, cooling temperature prediction and control is the primary goal of the simulations - which requires full conjugate heat transfer of conduction, convection, and radiation - whether the situation is forced or natural convection.

This webcast details new electronics cooling capabilities that will soon be released in STAR-CCM+. The capabilities are focused on making electronics cooling simulations faster and easier by simplifying the workflow, focusing the visible options on those most common for electronics cooling situations, and using terminology familiar to thermal engineers. All of this is done while keeping the full power of STAR-CCM+ available for situations and users who need it.
