Introduction to CFD for Oil & Gas
Wednesday, February 6, 2013

Physics based simulation (Computational Fluid Dynamics or CFD) enables engineers to perform accurate, virtual tests in order to understand and optimize flow and thermal behavior.

Application examples in the oilfield include:
  • Erosion prediction and mitigation
  • Gas dispersion
  • Heat transfer in fired equipment
  • Solids transport
  • Multiphase separators
  • Multiphase flow through pipes and pumps
This informational webcast will walk through real world examples of where CFD has provided insight, mitigated risk or improved product performance in the oilfield. It will also include a live demonstration of STAR-CCM+, a CFD tool.
