Understanding Impedance of Li-Ion Batteries with Battery Design Studio

The Battery Design StudioO (BDS) software enables direct simulation of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy using a modified version of Newman’s DUALFOIL model.  The current, voltage, and concentration profiles which BDS provides are very helpful for understanding impedance spectra.  The features of the impedance spectra of a high-power cell with an NMC/LMO cathode and graphite anode are presented and explained in terms of kinetic and solid/liquid mass-transfer.
